A rather mundane status update about getting a refund on mushrooms elicited over 40 likes on my Facebook yesterday evening. It’s hard to say whether people liked the status itself or the ridiculous pun off that followed between my best friend and college roommate Emily.

Regardless, the flurry of Facebook activity pushed my Klout score to the 50 mark for the first time…ever.

So, I suppose I should thank the cashier who rang up my white mushrooms as oyster mushrooms and made my night of social media glory possible. Also, thanks to Emily who has a way with words that elicit an eye roll from some, but always makes me giggle.
